Milton wasn't the only one who wrote, spoke, and risked his life for democracy and freedom. As Americans, this idea is part of the fabric of our history. It is an on going balance between law and individual freedoms.
Please complete the two StudySync assignments in class.
If you need more time, please come to tutorial or work on it at home.

Milton's Paradise Lost

Steinbeck is a master of symbol and allusion. Aside from "To a Mouse" by Robert Burns, the other backbone of Of Mice and Men is Milton's Paradise Lost which he alludes to with his main character George Milton.
Paradise Lost is a difficult work, so we will be working with a soundtrack (abridged) version!

Have songs that relate to a someone who feels betrayed and is off to destroy something? Feel free to share. :)
My soundtrack-- was made by students! :)

You have two assignments to work on. Both require you to think about literary devices
& "The Harvest Gypsies" will give you more insight to the world of the Great Depression and into
Steinbeck.

If you finish, you may go back to work on your
"To a Mouse" paragraph.
It was the first essay assignment for the quarter, so if you didn't complete it...
it affected your grade significantly.
Please turn it in.

I will accept it over the next week for less credit.
Please complete both StudySync assignments first.
They also have portions that count for essay/test credit: thesis, quiz, and response.
Annotations count for homework.
