#1 To Kill a Mockingbird- we are finally in the courtroom. Pay special attention to the testimony and who reacts. What do we learn? Other note- where are the kids sitting? What point is Harper Lee making?
Monday/Tuesday homework: finish chapter 17

#2 Notebooks- we don't do what we do to be good freshmen. We do what we do so that we can be independent readers and writers. It is time to reflect on our year, make plans for the end of the year, and keep the most important notes that we need for the years to come. :)

Begin to type notes and organize notebook: 1st notebook check- 3/3-4.
Tent. Notebook Table of Contents
#3 Greek Vocabulary- all finished with Latin Roots. One more packet to go. Test on Greek 1-2 next week.

Our second to last vocabulary review test! Yeah! You will receive your last packet after the test! :) Study! Visit Quizlet and join our class. Search for Glendora High School and Hill. Typed root list 1-20 due as well. :)

Tuesday-Wednesday: Read TKAM chapter 13-14. Remember you are welcome to listen at home like we do in class! See link below. :)

Heads up for the future: make sure that you have your symbol notes handy. We will be using and typing those too! We are also going to start organizing our notebook for next year's English class and the close of this one. So far you have: How to Read, Latin Roots 1-20 (we will add Greek 1-8), Literary Terms, and Symbol notes. :) Any 1-2" binder will do. Feel free to use what you have at home. :)

As we move past our last literary terms test and also have a better understanding of TKAM in general, students will be asked more and more to read on their own. Time will be provided in class, but if students find it helpful to listen to the audible version, I highly recommend it. Here is a link they may use in class or at home, for listening while they read.

Most low grades are due to missing essays- that we wrote in class. If this is you, please type and submit to turnitin.com. Because they are two weeks late now, please let me know that you turned it in. Thank you. Remember that you can fix a poor essay and resubmit for up to a B.
You will also have a chance to raise your grade on the lit. terms on February 17-18.
