Finding Our Courage- And Helping Others Find It Too

We have been working in class so hopefully rough drafts are finished by Friday
and please take the weekend to relax with family.
We will go over edits and drafts on Tuesday/Wednesday and they are due on Wednesday on Turnitin.com.
Our first mini-unit is on courage. We are working on an essay to show students how we read, annotation, and write for high school. So that they can feel comfortable in their new English class. :)
Our best moment:
Period 5 began passing a note of courage to each other. <3
Prompt: People display many different types of courage.  Human beings need courage in all stages of life--when they are children, when they are adolescents, when they are adults, and even when they die. In a multi-paragraph essay, discuss the ways courage allows a person to face life with dignity and composure.  Be sure to include specific concrete details from the poem “Courage,” by Anne Sexton, in your essay.
"Courage"
We annotated in class. Please finish if you need to. For homework: find evidence of courage: a song, a movie, an interview, an article. What works for you? What evidence/experience do you need to share to write your essay.
Here are some of the songs other students thought of. What is your song?
