Freshman Honors

Freshman Honors course is for students who wish to challenge themselves on a daily basis to go further in reading, writing and discussions. That does not mean that we abandon a freshman's unique needs or journey as a beginning high schooler, but that we allow the hungry student to pursue some of those goals more independently while allowing them to move ahead at a more rigorous pace. This does not result in "just more work," but sometimes less. Fewer check points, with an assumption that the conscientious student does not want or need so many steps or so much repetition when they already "got it." More time will be spent on what many students find easier and more fulfilling: more reading, more writing, more discussion. Does that mean that we don't stop to just be freshman? No. We are college with a safety net. Have a question? Need some help? Awesome-- just ask. :)
