It is time to move forward in history, from the comic books and stories of the 1930's, to the zombies, marches, speeches, and books of the 1960's. It is a difficult time of unrest due to civil rights issues at home and the Vietnam War overseas. We will watch Birth of the Living Dead a documentary about the famous zombie movie Night of the Living Dead and its time in our cultural history as we step into the world of Harper Lee and Dr. King. We will also watch the award winning movie To Kill a Mockingbird first so that we have a good handle on the piece and can spend more time looking at it deeply. | |
