Soundtracks!

Blue means rebirth and depth of consciousness:
It is wrong to think of Africa as a single country- with one people or struggle, but like America, there are commonalities. Music is one of them. As we have discussed, the music in this book contains powerful messages, that when understood, carry so many deeper meanings. That is true of music itself as well.
Music carries so many deeper meanings when we really look at it deeply.
Purple means royalty/priestly:
Your project is to think about how music affects your life, too, and to
make a soundtrack of your own.
If you are modifying it for your English teacher, please show them ahead of time to check for their requirements.

Green means growth:
As a Lit. Strat. class we won't stop there. Pick one song for our class to study. We will look for the same literary devices that we look for in our great novels and make new connections. This should not only make literary devices more fun and easier to remember for the next book you read, but give you a chance to really look into the important messages that your favorite artists layer into their work and to truly appreciate their art.

In order to be successful, we need to be organized and understand how to get where we need to go.

Homework:
  • Have parents sign the syllabus and turn in to Google Classroom. Due Friday (pref. Wednesday).
  • Take your tech. sheet to each of your teachers. Write down the class, their name, what technology you need, notes if necessary, and have them sign that you are logged in or know how to. I can help you in class if you need it. :) Due Friday. :) Did you lose it? Click on the image to the right. :)
Upcoming:
I will send a homework sheet for any reading assignments that looks like your tech. sheet. You need to fill it out so that we can work together on your English, History, Science reading as much as possible. Working toward those classes is 50% of your grade. Please turn in each class so I can check in and support you. :)
